About Craft Brads

Brads are mini-fasteners that can help you hold together layers of material, like cardstock. Use brads for crafting cheap and easy solutions to add style and functionality to your project. These 3D embellishments are acid-free, making them photo-safe. They come in multiple sizes, colors, shapes, and even materials.

Scrapbooking brads are easy to remove and replace after they have been implemented in your project, so you do not have to worry about ruining your entire scrapbook page if you decide to rearrange them halfway through. Make sure you buy in bulk for extra savings.

How to Use Brads

Brads are not only easy to remove but also easy to use. They do not require as much time, precision, or equipment as eyelets. To use a brad on your page, simply punch a small hole punch using a tiny hole punch, thumb tack or an X-Acto knife to make a tiny opening, something big enough for the legs to go through. You must do this for each layer your brand needs to go through. Once it is pulled through, it's super easy to separate the two prongs; these prongs hold the brad securely in place. With the large variety of different kinds of brads to choose from, it's easy to mix and match to fit your layouts, cards, and other crafts perfectly.

What You Can Do with Crafting Brads

  • Sand it - This gives the brad a nice rustic and vintage look. If it is a metal brad, then it will give off a dull and tainted look. If the brand is painted, then the metal underneath the color will show through with sanding.
  • Ink it - If you have a metal brad, adding some fingernail polish to give it the exact color you want is easy. This is also a great way to use up the brads with colors you don’t want anymore.
  • Add a rub-on - By applying a small rub-on to a metal brad, you can add a unique decoration while keeping your page uncluttered.
