March 2018 – Free Monthly SVG Design Downloads

bunny candy bag easter paper craft project completedMarch is national craft month and we want to start it out with some free SVG design downloads. This month, Aaron Meyers has done (1) St. Patrick’s day card, a (1) bunny candy bag, and (1) fun Easter scrapbook layout.

Just in case you are new here, every month we release new, free designs. It works like this: You use the SVG image files with an electronic cutting machine to cut your material (colored cardstock, vinyl, etc.) to make these fun designs. To download each file, all you have to do is scroll to the bottom of this post and click on the links.

Richelle tackled our favorite design and brought it to life; it’s called the Bunny Candy Bag. To make this cute bag, you will just need some scrapbook paper, strong adhesive, and a bag filled with your preferred treats! You will need to adhere the cardstock to the bag, and we suggest using double-sided tape. Your kids, friends, and relatives will love this as an Easter gift. You use the SVG image files with an electronic cutting machine to cut your material (colored cardstock, vinyl, etc.) to make these fun designs. To download each file, all you have to do is scroll to the bottom of this post and click on the links. Here is our favorite design for this month’s selection:

Valentine’s 2018 Paper Craft Projects

homemade love dog w/ balloon valentine's cardby Richelle Naegle

Valentine’s, or as I like to call it, the big heart day, is almost here. One of my new year’s resolutions is to stop being a paper craft slacker! This year, I am going to get my holiday crafts done early, starting with my Valentine’s paper craft projects. If you need some help meeting your goals, whether they are related to crafts or not, you should download our free SVG files.

Valentine’s Greeting Cards

For this first card, I used my Silhouette CAMEO 3. The overall size of the card is 4.25″ x 5.5″, and I found the cute puppy at the Silhouette Store. The design is called Love Dog w/ Balloon. I cut the image out at about 3.5″ tall, from the bottom of LOVE to the top of the heart balloon. Continue reading “Valentine’s 2018 Paper Craft Projects” »

Crafts for Charity Organizations

by Nathan Baker

‘Tis the season of giving and we know plenty of generous crafters. Most people are willing to give, we just are all so busy. We get caught up in day to day life, and we often don’t find the time to seek out opportunities to give. That’s why we decided to give you a quick breakdown of some of our favorite causes. Research can take time, and this will ease that burden. If you like doing crafts for charity, then these will be matches made in heaven.

Proof: my dog Laika wearing a homemade beanie by yours truly

Just as you’d suspect, there are different types of organizations with different needs. Before we get into that, I’d like to suggest visiting a nearby retirement home and having arts and crafts time there with the residents. Giving our time to those who need companionship is one of the most charitable and rewarding things we can do.
Making Crafts to Donate to Charity?
If you want to donate completed projects, then below are some fine options to consider. Our readers are typically machine crafters, and many of these charities are looking for crocheted and knitted goods, but we suspect that many of you have these skills in your arsenal! If you can believe it, even I know how to knit and purl.

We did think of one fun way for you to use your Cricut machines: if you’re planning on donating a  kid’s white t-shirt to a shelter, you might as well put a fun design on it first with Iron-on. I’m sure you have plenty of your own solutions for designs, but maybe try one of our free SVG files (download links located at the bottom of this post).

Without further ado, here are some great organizations: Continue reading “Crafts for Charity Organizations” »

December 2017 – Free Monthly SVG Design Downloads

Well, it’s nearly December, which means we have free downloadable Christmas SVG designs for you to enjoy. We also included a few fun Hanukkah projects. We have plenty of different ideas to keep you busy this month, all courtesy of our designer Aaron Meyers. December downloads include: (1) scrapbook layout, (1) banner project, and (1) set of Hanukkah projects. The download links are at the bottom of the post.

In the event that you have never used an SVG file, they work with electronic craft cutting machines, like the CAMEO 3 and the Cricut Explore Air 2. It’s as simple as uploading the SVG file to your machine, loading the material, and then watch while machine does all the work.
