At CraftDirect, we’ve wanted to do a Sweet Sugarbelle cookie cutter project for quite some time, so I took the opportunity this Christmas break. I visited my nieces (ages 13 and 9) and nephew (age 4) in Georgia where it was bitter cold and gray, the type of weather that is perfect for cookie baking. Everyone was happy to participate, and we all had fun. The great thing about Sweet Sugarbelle is their products make it easy to create intricate sugar cookie designs using stencils and other helpful accessories.
Because I’m from Arizona, I thought the kids would like to get a little taste of the desert, so I selected the Cactus Cookie Cutter Set. It includes two cookie cutters, two templates, and two instruction cards. In addition to that, we used Disposable Piping Bags and a few household utensils, like butter knives and spatulas. Since we’ve been selling Sweet Sugarbelle, I’ve wondered what the templates look like. It turns out they are made of thin, clear plastic. You punch out the shapes to get the positive and the negative stencil: Continue reading “Sweet Sugarbelle Project: Cactus Cookie Cutters Set” »

Did you get a chance to see the Free SVG downloads from Aaron last week? If you haven’t, download them here. I loved his football jersey ideas and thought it would be fun to put my own twist on it for my Thanksgiving craft projects. We don’t play football in my family, but we do participate in a fun run every year. I decided to make t-shirts for our fun run this year. Aaron owed me a favor, so I asked him to make this fun Turkey Trotters design for us. I also did the Thanksgiving Tree project that Aaron designed.
Turkey Trotters Shirts
My boys were in my craft room looking at my fabric transfer paper and they found this Silhouette flocked brown heat transfer material. This gave the turkey fuzzy texture, which makes it a little more fun. For this shirt project, you need:
- Black, red, yellow, white and brown fabric transfer material
- Your favorite electronic cutting machine
- The free SVG file (download it at the bottom of this post)
- Heat (I used the new Cricut EasyPress, it worked great)
- Cricut BrightPad (optional, but really made weeding easier)
- Weeding tool
Thanksgiving is one of our favorite times of year and we are celebrating it by expressing gratitude to our faithful customers with free SVG download designs. Our lead designer, Aaron Meyers, has some fresh new ideas for this fall holiday. He’s come up with (1) Thanksgiving football jersey project, and (1) Thanksgiving tree home decor project.
For the best results with heat transfer projects, try the new Cricut EasyPress machine.
In case you have never used an SVG file, they work with electronic die-cutters, like the Silhouette CAMEO 3 and the Explore Air 2. It’s as simple as uploading the file to your machine, loading the material, and then waiting as the machine quickly does all the work. Here are the designs (scroll to the bottom of the post for the download links):
Above is the design concept for our Turkey Bowl football jerseys. We made 4 team logos, numbers for the back of the jersey, and also 3 team names. We figure many of you will probably want to come up with your own names with your preferred font, but at least we gave you a few ideas for team monikers. These are broken up into 3 different SVG files that look like this: Continue reading “November 2017 – Free Monthly SVG Design Downloads” »
