Halloween

  1. Halloween Craft Projects 2018: Layouts, Cards, Treat Bags, etc.

by Richelle Naegle It's October and now I feel like I can officially start creating for Halloween, and I love to make spooky and cute crafts. This year I think I got a little carried away with the scrapbook layouts! There are just too many fun Halloween paper collections to choose from this year. I couldn't decide which one I wanted to get, so I think I got them all, including: Simple Vintage Halloween Pumpkin Party Spooky Boo Trick or Treat and more! This first scrapbook layout was not created using any of those product lines, I actually went with the Simple Stories Happy Halloween Collection Kit. This is a perfect solution if you just want to make a couple pages (or a bunch of cards). It came with a sheet of SN@P Cards that are easy to add as an embellishment to your scrapbook pages. This next layout I made is a design you can download for free (check out the October downloads post here). The paper collection I used is called Hocus Pocus, designed by Echo Park. I absolutely love this layout that Aaron designed. I had to make it, and it was so easy with the collection kit! 3. NEW Doodlebug Collections - Fall 2018

by Richelle Naegle It's been a while since I have had the chance to craft, and there have been so many new craft products released that I have been dying to try. I am starting this week with a couple scrapbook pages and some super simple cards with the help of a couple of the Doodlebug Design collections. In both projects, I went with scrapbook kits. These are my favorite solutions for creating paper projects because, in one convenient pack, you get everything you need. Continue reading

  5. Halloween Treat Bag Projects

by Richelle Naegle It's time to get ready for Halloween, Everybody knows the best thing about Halloween is the treats! At least that's what my kids tell me. So today, I thought it would be fun to make a few quick and easy Halloween treat bag projects. Silhouette 3D Open-Sided Halloween Favor Box For me, the first thing I did was get my Silhouette CAMEO (have you seen the new Pink CAMEO 3?) out and searched through their Silhouette Studio until I found these cute Ghost boxes. They are called 3D Open sided Halloween Favor Box. I cut them out out at 11" tall, which allowed me to cut two boxes from one 12" x 12" sheet of patterned cardstock. The banner spells "Boo", but instead of O's, I substituted googly eyes. I think that modification turned out great Continue reading

  7. Mini Halloween Things Projects - Tim Holtz 2017

by Richelle Naegle I'm sure you have seen my posts for the New Tim Holtz Halloween Dies. 2017 Sizzix Halloween Dies is a great year for Halloween Dies!! Oh my, these are all so amazing!  Okay, so I finally got my hands on a couple of them, because they are literally flying off the shelves. I would highly recommend pre-ordering them if you want them, they seem to go out of stock as soon as they arrive. The reason I decided to make Mini Halloween Things projects is I think this may be my favorite die set from 2017, I love the Mini Halloween Things Thinlits. They are perfect for making fun little cards to go with treats, or create quick tags, or add an embellishment to a photo frame. If you are like me and you enjoy giving away treats to friends around Halloween, you can add a quick note with a fun die-cut piece using this die set. and want to add a cute little note to them these would make a perfect embellishment to a gift tag. 8. Tim Holtz Halloween Release & Project

by Richelle Naegle With October 31st still a few months away, Tim Holtz has been working hard on new designs. The new Tim Holtz Halloween release has inspired me to craft, the only problem is his new line isn't quite in stock yet. I had to get creative and use some of my favorite dies that I already have. The Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs and Crazy Cats are among the funniest designs in his entire portfolio, and when you combine them with the Crazy Things, you can really dress the dogs and cats up to match the occasion at hand. The overall size of this card is 3" x 3". I used the Mini Crazy Cats & Dogs dies & stamps bundle to make the dog, and then I used the Crazy Things die and stamps bundle for the witch's hat and broom. The stamps work very well with these dies because they make it so easy to have all the fun details of the dog without having to draw them on. Continue reading

  10. Heidi Swapp Lightbox Project Ideas

by Richelle Naegle Have you seen the fun, new Heidi Swapp Lightbox? It offers an easy way to create a marquee that matches the theme of the occasion at hand, like holidays, birthdays, or just for fun! There are background images, letters (in a variety of colors) so you can write what ever you want, phases and even fun icons. The white Lightbox comes with a cord, so you don't have run it off batteries. You do have the option to use batteries if you prefer, though. I made two different designs to demonstrate how simple and yet delightful this really is. I was nervous about not having enough of the right pink letter Lightbox inserts to spell out Happy Halloween. I only used one package and it did the trick. I also used the nifty Holiday-themed Lightbox Icons. By my count, there are at least two icons for each major holiday! Continue reading
