Two fun new cards cartridges in the same week! Are you in love? Because I sure am. I had to create something the minute I got my hands on this one, the new Classically Modern cartridge. I am so excited for the latest installment from Cricut.
I absolutely love the intricate designs that these cards have to offer, and they are just the beginning! I’m going to get my money’s worth with this one. It really is an instant classic Cricut cartridge. I think the hardest choice I had to make was which two cards to cut out first 🙂
So, I chose the cute robot Birthday card, I have two young boys and they have lots of little friends so this card is so perfect for them. The card is about a 3.5″ x 5” card when finished, and it has the cute matching envelope. I cut out an extra robot because i wanted to add him to the front of the envelope. This card was super easy to create and you’ll find excellent colored cardstock here.
This second card is the one featured on the front of the box and may be the reason I fell in love with this cartridge in the first place. I LOVE how detailed and intricate this card is. Remember: you don’t have to make these designs into cards!
You could easily cut off the back and use the front as a scrapbook embellishment, or even cut it out of Cricut vinyl and make it into a great home decoration. Or really get creative and use Iron-on material to make a beautiful shirt out of it. The possibilities really are limited to your own imagination. Even though it’s a card cartridge, you don’t have to use it as a card.

Are you ready for a new cards cartridge? I sure am. I love easy-to-make cards, and the specific cartridges that make that possible. I love whenever Cricut comes out with new cartridges. I love the recently released Simple Pop-Up Cards Cricut cartridge! If you remember the classic Everyday Pop-Up Cards cartridge, you know there were some designs that were a little hard to figure out (with regard to assembly). So I wanted to do two cards, just in case I happened to pick the one card that doesn’t quite work! 🙂
Suggestion: If you are buying this cartridge, you will want to make sure you have the right scoring tool for your Cricut machine. If you have the Explore system, then you will want the scoring stylus and if you have the Expression, then you need the scoring tip. This tool will make your life so much easier! I don’t think you would want to have to score these cards by hand!
So here are the two cards I chose to make. The first is the Congratulations card. This card would be perfect for all those graduations coming up! Not only do you get a cute card that you can create in their school colors, but it delivers a nice third dimension! Oh and the bonus feature if you have the Explore (the Air or the One), this cartridge will draw the text on the bottom of the card. If you don’t like the message you can easily hide the text or add your own to make it a personalized custom card. I left the text on this one it says “You did it!” This card was easy to put together just two simple layers.
NOTE: I did find it easier to glue the two layers together before you start trying to fold the pop-ups. I think it gave the card more stability so it was easier to see where and how each part was supposed to be folded. Just make sure you don’t glue the whole thing down or you wont have any pop-up action. 🙂
This second project is the I love you card. I used the drawing feature again on the Explore, so it says “I love you with all my heart!” Both of these cards have matching envelopes (as do all the cards on this cartridge) making it easy for you create them what ever size you want.
So overall, it’s really easy to create with the new Simple Pop-Up Cards Cricut cartridge. Project ideas? Share them with us here or in social media. Get stocked up with American Crafts paper. We have lots of options, like Pebbles, Pink Paislee, Crate Paper cardstock, Studio Calico, and more.

Have you had a chance to look at all the fun decorating projects you can make with the new Four Seasons Home Decor Cricut cartridge? If you haven’t, take a minute and check this cartridge out. It’s an instant classic, and has plenty of fun images that you can make into pillows, flowers, wreaths, and don’t forget about the 3D Shadow box cuts. I actually chose to do a shadow box cut for this project, but I got creative with the application. I framed my final product for a decorative wall-hung solution. I am always looking for something new and creative to make, without spending too much time, so if you’re like me, then you will love this type of cartridge.
For this Cricut project I selected the owl (if you have followed my blog for very long, you already know that I love owls). This particular image has 5 layers, so 5 cuts, and you could potentially do them all one color (like white or ivory, etc.). So as easy as it was, I just:
- Found 5 complimentary brown colors and did the 5 layers in those various shades.
- Sized the image to a 10 x 10 (to fit my frame) and then hit cut! Too easy, right?
- Stacked the layers together and attached foam squares to the four corners.
- Framed it!
In seriously just a few minutes you can have a beautiful shadow box framed image. Pick up fun frames at garage sales, decorate them with our discount embellishments, and then make an image with this fun cartridge to match the frame. To ensure your project goes off seamlessly, I would recommend you have the quality supplies. The Cricut Explore Air system is amazing and you need to stay updated with Cricut mats and and Explore blades.
Let me know what you think about this new cartridge, particularly your favorite images? If you have made something with it I would love to see what you have created using the Four Seasons Home Decor Cricut cartridge ideas that you have made. Share them with me on the Google + paper crafting fanatics page or Facebook.

It uses Silhouette Studio software and with a membership you can get projects from their Design Store, just like with the classic Silhouette machines. by Richelle NaegleI am so excited today. I got to play with some new interchangeable embossing folders from the Craft experts at CGull. If you remember, they came out with a couple about a year ago, and I really loved their innovative embossing potential. You can see my old project with them here. Now with their release of 3 fun, new designs, it’s time for me to do another project. In this case I am featuring the new Baby-themed folder. The other 2 new ones include the Thank You set and the Modern Victorian folder set (this one comes with 5 inserts).
Changing out or arranging the inserts in various ways gives you potential for original work every time you use these folders in your card-making and layout projects. I love the vibrant colored cardstock and how each card contrasts with one another.
The first round of CGull embossing folders are amazing in what they deliver to your projects, but crafters were complaining the inserts and folders are not clearly marked. CGull listens to their customers and made the fix with this generation of folders. Now each insert is clearly marked so you know exactly how to position the phrase you choose. Keep in mind these new folders are 5″ x 7″ and the first round was 4″ x 6″ (A2).
These 3 cards were made in about 20 minutes total! I could have done them quickly, if needed, but I had the time, so I added the extra detail. I love how they turned out and now I’m ready for a baby shower. Who’s inviting me?
Have you used any of the other CGull embossing folders? I would love to see them share them with me on Google+ Paper Crafting Fanatics page or on Facebook, or just leave a comment with a link to your blog. Also, as long as we are talking about CGull, check out the amazing CGull totes.
